Meandering Man

I start here at the end

Always missing the bend

That will take me back

To that sleepy hollow

Of remembering

Why is that you evade me

Are you afraid of what I'll see

Something spurious or great

Will always taunt that choice

I never had

Maybe it's you that follows my fate

Never arriving earlier than late

To placate my insecurity

That made me feel special

Now lost

The beginning arrives anew

Dragging me back to you

Helplessly sensing your touch

To comfort me in my daze

And awake.
